This book gives the running beginner helpful hints for
all questions related to running it offers information
about the form and volume of training as well as clothing
and nutrition, and is also a good source of advice for
the more experienced runner it gives practical advice for
all those who want to start running as well as for
coaches and instructors.
Carl-Jurgen Diem is an active long-distance runner and triathlete. He is also the author of numerous publications dealing with running. He has been a sports instructor for over 40 years, the last 20 years being mainly involved with looking after beginners in LAUF-TREFF(a jogger run-along meeting). In fact with his training concepts for group leaders Carl-Jurgen Diem among others has had a considerable influence on the development of LAUF-TREFF. He leads the internationally known DARMSTADT LAUF-TREFF. From 1981 he was manager for the land LAUF-TREFF, then manager for popular sports in the Hessen Athletics Association and from 1985 to 1990 federal LAUF-TREFF manager in the German Athletics Association. He is also an honorary member of the German Association of Long-Distance Runners for Doctors and Pharmacists.
