Richard Kraus, Professor Emeritus, School of Tourism and Hospitality Management, Temple University Dr. Kraus was primarily known as an educator, having taught at several of the country's most prestigious universities. Dr. Kraus wrote over 40 textbooks and monographs on topics such as recreation fundamentals, program planning and leadership, and therapeutic recreation. He has also served as a consultant to many agencies, including the Job Corps, the Office of Economic Opportunity, the YWCA, and numerous colleges and public agencies. Dr. Kraus received the Distinguished Fellow Award from the Society of Parks and Recreation Educators, was selected as the Jay B. Nash Scholar by the American Association for Leisure and Recreation, and was given the National Literary Award by the National Recreation and Park Association.
