Dee La Vardera is a former English teacher and author of a number of Wiltshire titles. She has also written for the "Guardian," "The Lady," "My Weekly," "Farmers' Weekly," "Wiltshire Life," and "Wiltshire Magazine." She co-wrote with Charles Waite "Survivor of the Long March: Five Years as a POW, 1940-1945." She is a member of the Society of Women Writers and Journalists and is a trustee of Calne Heritage Centre. She lives in Calne, Wiltshire.
