Catherine Barry was born on 2nd January 1963 on the Northside of Dublin. She is a poet/short story writer and novelist. Catherine’s first book The House that Jack Built was published in 2001, Null and Void in 2002 and Skindeep in 2004. As a result of writing Skindeep, she is now an active member on the fund advisory board of the Dove Self-Esteem Awareness campaign. Catherine’s poems and short stories have also appeared in many magazines and newspapers. Catherine has a great love for radio, and voluntarily co-presented/produced and researched the morning programme ‘Lifeline’ for NEAR FM 102.3 which dealt mainly with health and lifestyle issues. Catherine’s latest book Charlie and Me is a factual account of her journey out of alcoholism and what she had to do to maintain her recovery.
