A guidebook to trekking the Walker's Haute Route from Chamonix to Zermatt. Covering 215km (134 miles) and 14,500 m of ascent and descent, this long-distance trek crosses 11 passes in the French and Swiss Alps. Taking 2 weeks to walk, the route is suitable for experienced alpine trekkers.
The route is described west to east in 14 stages, each between 9 and 20km (6–12 miles) in length, with full details of route variants provided.

Jonathan Williams was Cicerone’s publisher and managing director for nearly 25 years, working with authors and leading the development of the range.
