Evelyn John Holtzhausen caught the hiking bug while still an adolescent, accompanying his cousin on excursions to the Drakensberg. He has since hiked many of the major trails in South Africa, the UK, Spain and Norway as well as in the Yosemite National Park, California, USA. A former journalist and co-founder of a public relations firm, he now leads hiking groups and facilitates forest bathing (shinrin-yoku) experiences in Cape Town. He lives in Cape Town.
