This journal represents an illustrated study of well-known works in the Metropolitan Museum's (New York) collections, including pieces not on permanent display, selections from important exhibitions that have visited the Museum, and related works in other collections. Reflecting the breadth and depth of the Museum's encyclopedic collections, the volume's range expands as the Museum grows. Volume 31 is particularly broad in its range - from an important study of four ancient mirrors in four different curatorial collections at the Museum to a discussion of works by Otto Dix owned by the Metropolitan. Of special interest are three articles based on papers given at the recent symposium of the works of Francisco Goya.
