Over the last 10 years he has worked with the IUCN UK Peatland Programme on environmental policy and advocacy to promote the conservation of peatlands. A native of Edinburgh, Clifton lives there with his wife and takes every opportunity to explore nature, particularly in the much-loved Scottish countryside. A keen hill walker and cyclist, he is a passionate believer that encouraging people to enjoy nature for themselves is one of the best tools for conserving wildlife.
