Afzal Khan shows both employers and employees how to untie the increasingly complex and confusing knot that makes up employment law. This title is useful for early resolution of problems on both sides. It makes clearer and more practical a complex area - employment law is one of the fastest changing, most often misquoted areas of law in which problems are never clear cut. It is suitable for human resources departments, employees with specific issues to resolve, students of employment law, trade union staff.

Afzal Khan is a lecturer in law at Oxford University. He is an employment law specialist for the CAB, and assists in their training program. He also provides both Human Resources advice for employers and runs an advice service for BMW. Afzal hosts an employment advice phone-in programme on local radio, and also runs an employment law consultancy. He lives in Oxford, and in his spare time manages to annoy his teenage son.

Follow a step-by-step approach to employment problems; Understand the pit-falls that they may face in a tribunal claim; Know how to conduct a grievance properly; Learn how to deal with problems without having to worry about rights that may otherwise inadvertently be lost; Understand the positive difference it can make to deal with a problem in an unconfrontational manner; Choose to deal with problems at the earliest stage, thus minimizing stress; Mitigate problems relating to ill health and stress; Improve the working environment and productivity through encouragement of a free information flow with regards to rights.
