requirements for starting a limited liability partnership are also
described.
Next, the book examines the legal requirements relating to private limited
companies. The topics covered include starting and running a private limited
company as well as the duties of company officers. The responsibilities and
controls over directors are examined, in relation to service contracts and
other transactions, as well as the mechanisms for removing directors.
After discussing financing the company and shareholder issues, the book
examines the consequences of company administration, insolvency and personal
bankruptcy.
Finally, contracts for goods and services are examined, together with key
business taxes.
Dr Fang Ma is a Senior Lecturer in Law at the University of Portsmouth, and she has been teaching Business Law for nearly 20 years. She is the author of Law Express Question and Answer: Company Law (Q&A Revision Guide) (Pearson, 2015). She was the examiner for Company Law at the Chartered Governance Institute UK & Ireland. She also published in a wide range of academic journals and presented papers at national and international conferences.
