And do they have more health problems than the general prison population? These questions led the researcher to delve deeper into the reality of Brazilian prisons and the legislation that supports this population, drawing comparisons with other international realities in search of possible solutions to this problem.

She has a degree in psychology, a specialization in clinical psychopathology, a master's degree in psychiatry and medical psychology, and a doctorate (in progress) in public health. She works in the areas of teaching, psychotherapy, staff training, and research.
