Am 21. Mai 2005 trat das bulgarische Gesetzbuch über das IPR in Kraft, mit dem das bulgarische IPR erstmalig umfassend kodifiziert wurde. Petja Maesch stellt den Stand des alten bulgarischen IPR, die Änderungen durch die Kodifikation und das Spannungsverhältnis zum europäischen IPR dar.
