Tontines play a crucial role in household financing, particularly for those with limited access to formal financial institutions.The book relies on quantitative analysis, using data collected from Senegalese households by the Agence Nationale de Statistique et de Démographie (ANSD), to identify the socio-economic and socio-demographic factors influencing their participation in tontines.In addition, this book highlights the importance of informal mechanisms as a lever for financial inclusion in contexts where traditional institutions struggle to meet people's needs. It also puts forward recommendations for improving the articulation between formal and informal financial inclusion, in order to maximize their impact on economic and social development.

Born on January 5, 1987 in Birkelane, with a passion for teaching and the sciences, I obtained a Master's degree in applied mathematics at the Université Cheikh Anta Diop de Dakar, followed by a Certificat d'Aptitude à l'Enseignement Secondaire (CAES) at FASTEF(Ex-ENS). I then enriched my skills with a professional Master's degree in demography.
