Since its accession 62 years ago, no official document has compiled the collection of international conventions ratified by the Democratic Republic of Congo governing labour law and social security. However, under Article 215 of the Constitution, these conventions have superior authority over the Labour Code and the Law on the new social security system.The author's objective is to provide the public interested in labour and social security regulations with a summary of the international standards governing the relationship between employers and workers.

Born in Kinshasa on 12 December 1986, Mr Katuala TSHIBANGU is a legal adviser to the Federation of Enterprises of Congo and, since July 2020, has been sworn in as an associate judge at the Labour Court of Kinshasa/Gombe. In addition to these two main functions, the author performs several other duties.
