This is the successor to Nathan, Barnett and Brink's "Uniform Rules of Court/Eenvormige Hofreels". It has been rewritten to bring it up to date with changes that have come about in recent years. The format follows that of its predecessors: commentary following the full text of sections or rules.
This work is the successor to Nathan, Barnett and Brink's "Uniform Rules of Court/Eenvormige Hofreels". It is not, however, merely a new edition: it has been extensively rewritten to bring it up to date with the changes that have come about in practice in recent years. The format follows that of its predecessors: commentary following the full text of sections or rules; and a convenient format which is familiar to practitioners and which is designed to be both logical and systematic. The scope of the work has been extended by the inclusion of additional material which has direct relevance to everyday practice.

Part 1 The Supreme Court Act. Part 2 Uniform rules: uniform rules; schedules. Part 3 Other rules: appellate division rules; circuit court rules; provincial and local divisions; timetable. Part 4 Practice directions and court notices: provincial and local divisions; commercial court. Appendices: tariff of allowances payable to witnesses in civil cases; regulations governing the administration of an oath of affirmation; Admiralty Jurisdiction Act 105 of 1983 and rules; Reciprocal Service of Civil Process Act 12 of 1990; rules of the Income Tax Appeal Court (Income Tax Act 58 of 1962); rules of the Labour Appeal Court (Labour Relations Act 28 of 1956); statutory limitations on civil proceedings; interdicts.
