This book tells the story of the serial attacks on bank branches in the south and southwest of the state of Minas Gerais, mainly using explosives to gain access to money from ATMs and branch safes, with heavily armed gangs firing large-caliber firearms, in what has become known in police circles as the New Cangaço. How these attacks affected the lives of the population, the reaction of the authorities and the outlook for public security and the fight against crime.

Mauro Gil Campos de Oliveira has a degree in Geography from UNIFEG, a degree in Law from UNIFENAS and a postgraduate degree in Teaching in Higher Education from UNIS/MG. He works as a criminal lawyer in the south of Minas Gerais, taught Geography, Philosophy and Sociology at the Objetivo system, and was a city councillor and cabinet secretary in Alterosa/MG.
