It is a pleasure to have again been asked to provide the preface to International Comparative
Legal Guide - Pharmaceutical Advertising, which is now in its 17th edition.
This year the guide contains one general chapter written by Arnold & Porter and 24
individual chapters, including a new Russia chapter. The general chapter covers important
issues concerning the topic of consumer advertising, focusing on the legal framework
and promotional issues relating to over-the-counter medicines and other borderline
products.
As with other current editions in the ICLG series that I use as a reference point, this
edition will be my first port of call when faced with thorny questions concerning pharmaceutical
advertising.
