This reference contains full text of legislation (as amended) relevant to UK companies, primarily derived from the British Companies Legislation Service. As with previous editions, a subsection, history and other notes have been added, including former wording for recent amendments and repeals.
Sweet & Maxwell's British Companies Legislation Handbook 2002 now in its seventeenth edition (formerly published as British Companies Legislation), contains the following main statutes (as amended): * Companies Act 1985 * Insolvency Act 1986 * Company Directors Disqualification Act 1986 * Companies Act 1989 * Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 Other statutes and extracts are included, such as the insider dealing provision of the Criminal Justice Act 1993, the Insolvency Act 1994, the Limited Liability Partnerships Act 2000 and the Insolvency Act 2000. The Insolvency Rules 1986, as amended are also included together with many other relevant statutory instruments made under the above statutes. Recent statutory instruments cover implementation of the new regime for regulation of financial services under the Financial Services and Market Act 2000 (as far as relevant to company law), directors' home address confidentiality orders and considerable amendment to insolvency primary and secondary legislation in light of the operation of the EU Insolvency Proceedings Regulation (the latter Regulation, which has direct applicability into UK law, is also reproduced).
