Socio-centric societies have vibrant - albeit different - concepts of human flourishing than is typical in the individualistic West. Seth D. Kaplan is Professorial Lecturer in the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) at The Johns Hopkins University. He is Senior Adviser for the Institute for Integrated Transitions and consultant to organizations such as the World Bank, United Nations, and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development. He is author of two books and over 100 articles, and is co-author of the landmark United Nations - World Bank flagship report, Pathways for Peace: Inclusive Approaches to Preventing Violent Conflict (2018).
