Crowdfunding enjoys a globally booming market as a financial product. However, few literatures discuss this business comprehensively. There are even fewer ones that look into the Chinese market, one of the biggest financial crowdfunding markets in the world. This dissertation combines the two rarities together. The author is a Chinese lawyer who was actively involved in financial crowdfunding business in the UK. As China introduced the new regulation on loan-based crowdfunding in the end of August 2016, the observation made here is among the earliest on both sides of the border.
