ABOUT THE AUSTRALIAN AUTHORS Rhonda Smith is a Senior Lecturer in the Economics Department at the University of Melbourne, where for many years she has taught microeconomics-related subjects. Her research and teaching activities relate mainly to competition policy and law. Rhonda is a former ACCC Commissioner, was a member of the Copyright Law Reform Committee, and is presently a member of the Australian Copyright Tribunal. She is a lay member of the High Court of New Zealand., and is a member of the Commonwealth Consumer Advisory Committee. Rhonda has provided advice and acted as an expert witness in many major trade practices matters. David Round is Professor of Economics and Director, Centre for Regulation and Market Analysis, School of Commerce, University of South Australia.  He conducted a major research project into the history of cartels in Australia, serves on the editorial board of Review of Industrial Organization, and has authored some 140 papers in leading Australian and international journals, on a variety of industrial economics, competition policy, regulation, antitrust, and applied microeconomics topics. He has acted as a consultant to a large number of Australian and New Zealand companies, law firms and regulatory agencies, and is the founder and convenor of the annual University of South Australian Competition and Consumer Workshop, which is internationally recognised.
