This contributed volume offers a selection of papers arising from the Forum for Action-Research on Inclusive-Sustainable Development Agenda (FAIDA), a series of conferences held yearly in Uganda, hosted by THRIVE Research and Innovations Facility (THRAIF). Consistent with the format of the FAIDA Conferences, the papers in this book are the result of a Community of Practice where multi-stakeholders share as well as co-create knowledge and experiences: specifically, scientists, development actors, local people, and policymakers interact regularly to share know-how, experiences, and local wisdom. They, therefore, co-produce action-oriented knowledge and co-develop appropriate interventions toward inclusive sustainable development with a specific focus on livelihoods. The cases here have a particular focus on inclusivity and justice in the context of sustainable development.

Bosco Bwambale is a scholar in the interdisciplinary field of agro-ecological studies, with a multidisciplinary background. He holds a Doctorate of Sciences from Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Belgium. His current postdoctoral research focuses on Knowledge and Progress across Africa: An Evaluative Inquiry into Sustainable Transitions. With experience in university research (including research supervision), teaching, and curriculum development since 2015, Bosco s interests broadly cover the nexus between Nature (including agroecology), Epistemology (including indigenous knowledge), and Inclusive Development. This experience has been built across various universities (including Mountains of the Moon University, Gulu University, Uganda Martyrs University, Vrije Universiteit Brussel, and Kyambogo University). Thanks to his scholarly engagement during his postdoctoral research at the Makerere Institute of Social Research, Bosco has recently expanded his expertise in agrarian political economy, with a specific focus on ecological debates as they relate to rural-urban agrarian communities in the developing and emerging world.
