This book, Instrumental Methods for Analysis and Characterizations of Phytopharmaceuticals, provides a comprehensive exploration of phytopharmaceuticals and herbal drugs, bridging traditional knowledge with modern sciences.
This book focusses on phytopharmaceuticals and herbal drugs, bridging traditional knowledge with modern sciences. It discusses both conventional and novel drug delivery systems and addresses analytical and quality control challenges to ensure that herbal formulations comply with scientific and regulatory standards. Further, the book reviews the fundamentals of herbal drug delivery, strategies for rational dosage form selection, and challenges in analysis and standardization. The chapters explore the instrumental methodologies for qualitative and quantitative analysis (HPLC, HPTLC, LC-MS), structural elucidation (NMR, FTIR, LC-MS), crystallinity evaluation (XRD, SAED, DVS, SEM), pharmaceutical property assessment (Rheometer, pH, DLS etc), thermal behaviour studies (DSC, TGA), estimation of volatile components and residual solvents (GC), morphological characterization (TEM, AFM), and elemental analysis (XPS, ICPMS). Combining theoretical information with practical methodologies, this book serves as a valuable resource for students, researchers, and professionals of ethnopharmacology and pharmaceutical sciences
