Consuelo Lorenzo Monterrubio currently works at the Departamento de Conservación de la Biodiversidad, El Colegio de la Frontera Sur (ECOSUR) in San Cristóbal de Las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico. She is Professor of systematics and Curator of the mammal collection of ECOSUR. Her research focuses on the evolution, ecology and conservation of Mexican lagomorphs. Her current projects include the ecology and conservation of endemic rabbits and jackrabbits in Mexico.
José Manuel Mora Benavides currently works at the Carrera de Gestión Ecoturística, Sede Central, Universidad Técnica Nacional (UTN) in Alajuela, Costa Rica. He is Professor of Zoology and Ecology. His research focuses on the natural history and conservation of Costa Rican wildlife, with current projects on the systematics, ecology, and conservation of rabbits in Costa Rica.
