Amines to Azetidines provides a comprehensive exploration of diverse synthetic routes for the preparation of azetidines from various amine-bearing compounds. Chapters offer a detailed analysis of key methodologies including addition reactions of amines to alkenes and alkynes, condensation reactions involving acid and amine moieties, and unique approaches combining amine and alcohol functionalities. The book explores the synthesis of ?-lactams, a class of compounds with pharmaceutical significance, through the condensation of amine and alcohol moieties, while also examining the synthesis of azetidines from halo-substituted amine compounds. By presenting a systematic overview of synthetic strategies, this book serves as a valuable resource for researchers, chemists, and practitioners seeking to broaden their understanding of azetidine synthesis and explore innovative approaches to chemical transformations involving amines and related functional groups. - Explains the many methods for the synthesis of azetidines from amines including a comprehensive description of heterocycle synthesis - Provides the most up-to-date information in this fast-moving field with the most critical growth areas covered extensively - Describes an important and rapidly growing branch of heterocyclic chemistry

Dr. Navjeet Kaur received her BSc from Panjab University Chandigarh (Panjab, India) in 2008. In 2010, she completed her MSc in Chemistry from Banasthali Vidyapith. She was awarded with PhD in 2014 by the same university. With 11 years of teaching experience, she has published over 160 scientific research papers, review articles, book chapters, and monographs in the field of organic synthesis in national and international reputed journals. She has published five authored books: with Elsevier. She secured her place amongst top 2% scientists of the world in 2017 (single year ranking), 2018 (full career wise ranking), 2019 [full career wise ranking with 424 world rank (04 in India) and single year ranking with 03 world rank (01 in India)] and 2020 (full career wise ranking with 372 world rank and single year ranking with 126 world rank). In 2021, Dr. Kaur was chosen as a candidate for membership by Royal Society of Research, London, England, UK with full waiver of application fees. She is serving as an Editor-in-Chief of the 'Advanced Chemicobiology Research” journal.
Amines to Azetidines embarks on an insightful journey into the realm of organic synthesis, spotlighting the intricate processes that lead to the formation of azetidines from amine-based compounds. This book serves as a vital resource for chemists, blending theoretical knowledge with practical methodologies. With a focus on clarity, it elaborates on reaction mechanisms, substrate flexibility, and the role of catalysts in facilitating smooth conversions. Designed for readers ranging from seasoned researchers to eager novices, the text combines accessible language with relevant illustrations, ensuring a seamless understanding of fundamental concepts and advanced techniques alike. In addition to its detailed exploration of synthetic routes, the book provides a wealth of examples that underscore the practical applications of azetidines in pharmaceutical and industrial chemistry.
