ADVANCES IN PHOTOCHEMISTRY

More than a simple survey of the current literature, Advances in Photochemistry offers critical evaluations written by internationally recognized experts. These pioneering scientists offer unique and varied points of view of the existing data. Their articles are challenging as well as provocative and are intended to stimulate discussion, promote further research, and encourage new developments in the field.

James N. Pitts Jr. was an American chemist and researcher known for his work in the fields of photochemistry and atmospheric chemistry. Pitts was a pioneer in the study of smog and air pollution, especially in Los Angeles County. George Simms Hammond was an American scientist and theoretical chemist who developed "Hammond's postulate", and fathered organic photochemistry - the general theory of the geometric structure of the transition state in an organic chemical reaction.

Photochemistry of Simple Aldehydes and Ketones in the Gas Phase (E. Lee). The Photochemistry of Rhodopsins (M. Ottolenghi). Organic Photochemical Refractive--Index Image Recording Systems (W. Tomlinson and E. Chandross). Theory and Applications of Chemically Induced Magnetic Polarization in Photochemistry (J. Wan). Subject Index. Cumulative Index, Volumes 1--12
