Jan Martel obtained a bachelor degree in biology in 2005 from the University of Sherbrooke in his hometown of Sherbrooke in Québec, Canada. He obtained a Ph.D. in 2011 during which he helped to determine the nature of nanobacteria observed in blood, seawater and meteorites as non-living biomimetic mineral-organic nanoparticles. Dr. Martel is currently Associate Researcher at the Center for Molecular and Clinical Immunology at Chang Gung University in Taiwan where he has published more than 60 scientific articles and reviews related to nanoparticles, ectopic calcification, phytochemicals, aging, gut microbiota and the effects of electromagnetic fields on health. His current research interests focus on using lifestyle interventions and recent advances in bioelectromagnetism to improve health and performance, prevent chronic diseases, and delay aging.
