THIRTY DAYS, ONE THOUSAND KILOMETRES, AND A CENTURY OF TRANSFORMATION.
When Mark Evans and his international team set out from Ras Al Hadd in January 2025, he wasn’t merely following Bertram Thomas’s historic footsteps across Oman – he was bridging worlds. As camels traversed ancient trading routes alongside modern vehicles, Evans’s expedition reveals how the Sultanate has evolved from the Arabia Felix of legend into a beacon of sustainable innovation.
Through remote wadis and coastal plains, Evans encounters revolutionary carbon capture facilities, thriving conservation programmes, and the visionary young Omanis driving this green revolution. His daily dispatches showcase a nation confidently embracing its heritage while pioneering environmental solutions for a world in crisis.
More than a travelogue, this is the story of Oman’s remarkable journey: honoring traditions while boldly reimagining what the Gulf nation can become in an age of climate consciousness.
