Dr Marina Andreeva was born in Leningrad, USSR in 1944. She spent some of her school years in Samara and Vladivostok (USSR). She graduated from school in Tumen' (Siberia, USSR) in 1963, and from Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU) (USSR) in 1969, obtained her PhD degree in 1973 and Doctor of Science degree in 1991. She currently holds the position of chief researcher at the Chair of Solid State Physics, Faculty of Physics, MSU. The research area includes coherent effects in Mössbauer scattering, X-ray resonant magnetic reflectivity, magnetic multilayer investigations, and synchrotron nuclear resonance scattering experiments. She has been a visiting scientist in Hungary, Poland, India and Sweden. She has participated in several experimental sessions at synchrotrons in France, Germany and Japan and presented reports at many international conferences. She has 53 years of experience in scientific and pedagogical work, and has published 14 study guides and monographs (in Russian), and more than 120 articles in peer-reviewed journals. She is married and has two grown-up children and 5 grandchildren.
