The aim of the study reported in this book was to evaluate the larvicidal potential of eugenol and its synthetic analogues, by modifying the chemical structure of eugenol through organic reactions of nucleophilic substitution in the phenolic hydroxyl or dimerization, characterizing the structures by 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry and analysis in the infrared region of the chemical structures of the synthesized compounds, finally determining the larvicidal activity of eugenol and its derivatives. New products with potential for dengue control are then proposed.
She has a degree in Chemistry from the State University of Ceará (2008). She is currently a health surveillance inspector at Fortaleza City Hall and a PhD student at RENORBIO (Northeast Biotechnology Network). She has experience in Chemistry, with an emphasis on the Chemistry of Natural Products.
