This new book explores the latest advances in probiotic research in the prevention and treatment of cancer. The volume first provides an introduction to prebiotics, probiotics, and synbiotics, covering the anticancer properties of probiotic microorganisms, the impact of their metabolites, the potential mechanisms of probiotic chemoprevention, and the feasibility of incorporating probiotics into cancer care strategies. The volume looks at studies that examine the efficacy of probiotics in the treatment and management of such cancers as bladder cancer, colorectal cancer, cervical cancers, lung cancer, brain cancer, and others. It takes an in-depth look at gut microbiota and the role of probiotics as immune boosters and also considers possible toxicology challenges of probiotics as well.

Md. Faiyazuddin, PhD, is the founding Dean of R&D at Al-Karim University, India, as well as a Professor of Pharmaceutics, specializing in pharmaceutical nanotechnology, drug delivery, and AI in pharmaceuticals. An avid researcher, he has over 17 years of experience in pharmacy teaching, drug development, research consultation, and social pharmacy outreach activities in academia and industry. He lends his expertise to the editorial boards of more than 10 leading international pharmacy journals. He has published more than 150 peer-reviewed scientific articles in journals as well as published 12 books and 62 book chapters. He has been issued nine patents and made patent applications. Dr. Faiyazuddin has received eight awards and seven fellowships and has also been conference chair and given more than 50 invited conference presentations. He has secured significant research grants and mentored over 50 graduate and doctoral students. He is a member of several prestigious international organizations and contributes to advancing global pharmaceutical education and research. He has been instrumental in developing and implementing cutting-edge educational tools and programs that address critical needs in diverse and underserved communities. Sumel Ashique has been working as an Assistant Professor at Bengal College of Pharmaceutical Science and Research, Durgapur, West Bengal, India. He has four years of teaching experience. He has published 80 publications of international and national accredited reputed journals. He has knowledge in drug delivery, nanotechnology, and targeted treatment strategy. He is working as a reviewer for many publishers. He has also granted five patents from IP and Australia and has published over 20 chapters in books from Bentham, Springer, Elsevier, Bentham, and Taylor & Francis. Currently he is editing eight books under CRC Press, Taylor and Francis, Wiley, Nova Science, and Springer.
