Mehrzad Shams is recognized for his academic and research contributions in energy conversion and interdisciplinary fields. He earned a Master’s degree in Energy Conversion from Sharif University of Technology in 1994 and a dual PhD in Energy Conversion from Clarkson University (USA) and Amirkabir University of Technology in 2001. His career has been marked by more than 10 industrial projects and a decade of consultancy experience, with expertise spanning fuel cells, renewable energy, and multiphase flows. As a professor at K.N. Toosi University of Technology since 2002, he has been honored three times as the institution’s best researcher and once as its best teacher. He has also published over 140 peer-reviewed papers in numerous areas. Reza Parhoun is a researcher working on biomedical problems through numerical modeling. His research focuses on the fluid dynamics of infectious disease transmission, multiscale and multiphysics modeling of cancer, and the numerical study of thermal therapies such as hyperthermia and cryosurgery. He received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from K. N. Toosi University of Technology after completing an M.Sc. at Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic), where he studied fluid-structure interaction models of lymphatic vessels. With academic and industrial experience since 2017, he teaches fluid mechanics and computational fluid dynamics. His primary expertise lies in rigorous mathematical modeling of physical phenomena in living systems, bridging mathematical precision and biological processes.
