This book presents a broad-spectrum content of the functionalized materials and well-established methods, and a commercial perspective of various investigations conducted so far on dye degradation as an environmental cleaning application. It covers areas of advanced materials and efficient methods for the environmental remediation field.
Increased use of dyes compromises the visual quality of water sources and enhances the biochemical and chemical oxygen demand that promote toxicity, mutagenicity, and carcinogenicity of the environments. This book presents a broad-spectrum content of the functionalized materials and well-established methods, and a commercial perspective of various investigations conducted so far on dye degradation as an environmental cleaning application. It confines the emerging areas of advanced materials and efficient methods for the environmental remediation field as accommodating concepts.

Describes fundamental as well as advancements in the field related to dye degradation and dye removal
Discusses growth in the strategies to mitigate dye-related environmental issues through photocatalysis, electrocatalysis, and nanotechnology
Covers photocatalysis micellar catalysis, electrocatalysis ion exchange materials, and nanomaterials
Deals with various the synthetic approaches and future perspectives for development of the advanced materials
Focuses on pertinent green and sustainability aspects related to the environment.

This book is aimed at researchers and graduate students in environmental science, nanoscience, dyes, and chemistry.

Tarun Parangi is currently working as Assistant Professor at Chemistry Department, Shri Naranbhai Atmaram Patel Science College, Village Kakanpur, Affiliated to the Shri Govind Guru University, Godhra. He’d completed his Doctoral Thesis work on the field of Heterogeneous Catalysis in Applied Chemistry and obtained his Ph.D. Degree from The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara in 2015. He worked as a UGC’s Dr. DS Kothari post-doctoral research fellow at Chemistry Department, Sardar Patel University, Vallabh Vidyanagar. His area of research focuses on developing functionalized inorganic catalytic materials for energy applications. Also, he is working on titania (TiO2) -based photocatalysts for environmental cleaning applications. Parangi has published his research works in SCI and Scopus Journals such as Comments on Inorganic Chemistry, Electrochimica Acta, Applied Catalysis A: Chem, ACS Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, ACS Omega, Desalination & Water Treatment etc. He has also delivered oral talks at international and national conferences/symposia and has also acted as an active reviewer for several journals and conferences. He serves as member of Editorial Board for a prestigious publishing house. He has been honoured by Rosalind Membership, London Journal of Research in Science: Natural and Formal (LJRS), UK. Also, he has membership of various scientific associations and societies. Soyeb Pathan has been working as a Senior Scientist cum Assistant Professor at the Research and Development Cell (RDC) and Parul Institute of Applied Sciences since September 2021. He earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda in 2015. Prior to joining Parul University, he worked as a post-doctoral research fellow at Qatar Environmental & Energy Research Institute (QEERI) and as a Research Associate-CSIR with the Polyoxometalates and Catalysis group at The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. Dr. Pathan's research focuses on developing heterogeneous as well as single atom/controlled cluster catalysts, biomass and CO2 valorisation, green and sustainable chemistry, and polyoxometalates chemistry. He has received numerous fellowships and financial assistance from national funding agencies such as DST-SERB, UGC, and CSIR. Recently, he was awarded a Travel Grant from the Science and Engineering Research Board (DST-SERB), Govt of India to present his work at the 5th Annual UK Porous Materials Conference in the United Kingdom. Pathan has published his research work in reputable journals such as Inorganic Chemistry, Catalysis Science and Technology, Chemical Engineering Journal, Applied Catalysis A: Chem, Dalton Transactions, Microporous and Mesoporous Materials, Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research etc. He has also delivered many oral talks at international and national conferences and acted as a reviewer for several journals. He serves as an Associate Editor for the journal Frontiers in Catalysis and has also acted as a co-convenor and organizing secretary for various national conferences.
