Earth is a complex and ever-changing system, where the atmosphere, oceans, land, and life interact in intricate ways. Atmospheric Perspectives: Unveiling Earth's Environmental Challenges takes readers on a fascinating journey through the science behind these connections, from the planet s origins to the present era of climate transformation.
Bridging modern scientific insights with a broader understanding of environmental change, this book explores the forces shaping our globe from atmospheric dynamics and oceanic circulation to biodiversity, natural hazards, and human impacts. With accelerating climate shifts and growing environmental challenges, understanding Earth s delicate balance has never been more crucial.
Whether you are a student, researcher, or simply curious about our world, this book offers a compelling exploration of the natural systems that sustain life and the urgent need to protect them.

Dr. Vlado Spiridonov, born in Skopje, holds a PhD in meteorology from the University of Belgrade. In 2004 he was appointed Director of the Hydrometeorological Service and became Macedonia s permanent representative to the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).
Since 2020, Dr. Spiridonov has been a Full Professor of Meteorology at St. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje. He previously served as a Visiting Professor of Meteorology at the University of Vienna. In 2024, he was appointed by the President of North Macedonia to the National Security Council as an expert on climate change, extreme weather events, and environmental pollution.
A recognized authority in atmospheric science, Dr. Spiridonov has published extensively in international journals, including books with Springer Nature, and has received numerous awards, including the GRAND PRIX for his fog-clearing method.

Dr. Mladjen Curic, born in Zabljak, Montenegro, is a distinguished meteorologist and full professor at the University of Belgrade. He graduated from the Hydrometeorological School in Belgrade and earned his bachelor s, master s, and doctoral degrees in meteorology from the University of Belgrade.
Dr. Curic conducted study visits to institutions such as Colorado State University, Imperial College, and Manchester University. He began his academic career in 1972 as an assistant at the University of Belgrade and became a full professor in 1990. He served as director of the Institute of Meteorology and vice-dean of the Faculty of Physics.
A former member of the International Commission on Clouds and Precipitation, Dr. Curic s research focuses on atmospheric dynamics, cloud physics, weather modification, and environmental protection. He has authored several books and published over 200 papers in leading meteorological journals.

Dr. Nenad Novkovski, born on May 14, 1958, in Kriva Palanka, is a Full Professor of Condensed Matter Physics at the Faculty of Natural Sciences (PMF) in Skopje. He graduated in physics from the University of Skopje in 1980 and earned his master s degree from the University of Belgrade in 1985.
In 1987, Dr. Novkovski received a Swiss government scholarship for scientific training in Lausanne. He became an Assistant Professor in 1991, Associate Professor in 1996, and Full Professor in 2001. From 1998 to 2002, he served as Macedonia s Minister of Education and Science.
Dr. Novkovski has led postgraduate studies and held leadership roles at the Institute of Physics. He is a member of several prestigious organizations, including the IEEE and the American Physical Society. His work includes numerous scientific publications, books, and international conference presentations.
