This book deals with climate finance and presents a balance between the theoretical framework as drawn by the most widely cited practitioner-oriented and academic journals in environmental management and experimental finance. Does sustainability work eventually? This book explores the data from empirical analysis to address this question. The book investigates the effectiveness of Corporate Social Responsibility and its empirical verification by analyzing the correlation between firm-specific ESG characteristics and financial performance, and will be of interest to academics, researchers, and practitioners of sustainable finance and climate finance.
Giuseppe Galloppo, Ph.D. in Banking and Finance (at the University of Rome Tor Vergata) is Professor of Finance at University of Roma Tre and at Tuscia University of Viterbo where he teaches Climate Finance at the Economics, Management and Quantitative Methods Doctoral Course. He teaches Climate Finance at Master and Doctoral Course at many Universities in the Eastern Europe area and Mena Region and he has been Scientific Director at Master in Sustainable Finance at 24ORE Business School and teacher for the Sustainable Manager course at Federmanager (most representative association in Italy in managerial context with more than 180 thousand registered managers). He has published scientific papers in several top academic journals while his research revolves around Corporate Social Responsibility, Asset Allocation, Risk management, and the econometrics of financial markets. Additionally, he has worked as a member of several research teams, including the CNR National Council of Research, the Statistical Information Commission at Presidency of Prime Minister Authority, ASEAN Observatory and ASEAN Awareness Forum for Italian Foreign Office Ministry. Furthermore, in the banking and asset management industry he has been Quantitative Asset Allocation Manager while also being involved in research projects in Italian banking industry dealing with the assessment of sustainable corporate actions for the companies listed at Milan Euronext Growth market, the implementation of the new EBA Loan Policy and the valuation of the ESG premium pricing for the bank loan portfolio. Lastly, he is CEO and Founder of Resilience srl an Italian innovative Start-up in the context of Sustainable Fintech awarded in 2024 at the Italian Parliament among the best start-ups in Italy.
