Bioanalytical Chemistry
De Gruyter (Verlag)
978-3-11-119208-6 (ISBN)
Bioanalytical chemistry plays a central role in many fields, from healthcare to food and environmental control. This book aims to provide graduate students and young researchers with the interdisciplinary knowledge necessary to understand the principles and application of contemporary bioanalytical methodologies, especially those which focus on methods based on molecular recognition and nanobiosensing. This second edition has been expanded to include the most recent advances in molecular biosensing, including those developed to answer the urgent need for rapid and reliable analytical tools for fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.
Introduces general concepts of molecular recognition in bioanalytical chemistry.
Gives an overview of the core techniques and examines their strengths and weaknesses.
Prof. Paolo Ugo
Paolo Ugo is a former Professor of Analytical and Bioanalytical Chemistry, presently an Honorary Senior Researcher at Ca' Foscari University Venice. He authored over 150 articles on electrochemistry, biosensors and environmental analysis.
Dr. Pietro Marafini
Pietro Marafini is a Principal Scientist at CS Genetics (Cambridge, UK), leading Chemistry and Chemical Biology R&D. Since his DPhil at the University of Oxford, he has focused on nucleic acid chemistry and biophysical techniques.
Dr. Marta Meneghello
Marta Meneghello is a post-doc researcher in bioelectrochemistry at CNRS (Marseille, France). Since her Ph.D. at the University of Southampton (UK), she has worked on enzyme immobilisation and enzymatic electrochemical biosensors.
