This book explores sustainable chemistry and the role of inorganic materials in the transition to environmentally friendly energy solutions. It defines sustainable chemistry and its principles, traces the evolution of sustainable materials, and highlights the importance of metal complexes in catalysis. Water electrolysis technologies for hydrogen production are also examined, as are the challenges associated with their use, such as cost and toxicity. In addition, the book discusses the societal impact of sustainable technologies, highlighting the importance of social acceptability and sustainability policies. Finally, it proposes future perspectives focusing on innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and public awareness, in order to transform challenges into opportunities and foster a sustainable future.
I'm an independent researcher in bioinorganic chemistry, specializing in macromolecular synthesis and characterization. I hold a PhD from the University of Paris XII (1997) and a Diplôme des Études Approfondies en Systèmes Bioinorganiques from the University of Paris XI (1993), where I also obtained my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Chemistry.
