This textbook, supported by the Textbook Publishing Center of University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, provides a fundamental introduction to advanced diagnostics techniques for graduate students majoring in combustion science, chemistry, and chemical engineering-related subjects. The textbook is concise and illustrative and includes hot issues and current progress of diagnostics. Dr. Zhen-Yu Tian is a full professor at the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences and University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. His research areas include advanced diagnostics, combustion reaction kinetics, clean combustion, and micro-gravity combustion. He got several awards such as Beijing outstanding scholarship, Wuzhonghua outstanding researcher, Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship, and Bernard Lewis Fellowship. He is the PI of more than 30 projects with funding more than 10 million dollars. Up to now, he has published more than 160 peer-reviewed journal papers with about 3000 citations.
