The main objective of this publication is to present the reader with a methodological proposal for environmental zoning in transboundary basins, based on a physical-conservation diagnosis and prognosis, using remote sensing data and geoprocessing techniques. The theoretical-methodological basis was integrated landscape analysis from a geosystem perspective.

Edwaldo Barbosa is a geographer with a Master's degree in Geography (Geoenvironmental Analysis) and a PhD in Environmental Technologies from UFMS. He is currently Professor and coordinator of the Geoprocessing Laboratory at UEMS. He works mainly in the areas of Remote Sensing, Geoprocessing, Environmental Modeling and Transboundary Watershed.
