The World Catalogue of Bostrichidae (Coleoptera) contains a list at the level of subfamilies up to subspecies, including synonyms. This book contains a detailed distribution and deposit of type material. All original descriptions of all taxa have been studied and are listed in the bibliography.
The present World Catalogue of the family Bostrichidae (Coleoptera, Bostrichiformia) includes all taxa described up to 31 December 2023 and contains a complete list of subfamilies, tribes, genera, subgenera, species and subspecies, including synonyms. This book also contains detailed distributions for 98 genera and 599 species and subspecies for individual countries, broken down into zoogeographic regions. For selected "larger" countries (Russia, China, India, Australia, Canada, USA, Mexico, Brazil, Chile and Argentina), a finer division into subregions was used, which often followed the administrative divisions (states, districts, provinces) of these countries. The storage of the vast majority of the type material in public and private collections (if known) is indicated. All original descriptions of the taxa and several other publications dealing with the distribution of these species are listed in the bibliography.

Petr Zahradník, specialist in the taxonomy of the Ptinidae family (author of approx. 60 taxonomic publications with descriptions of almost 200 species), but he is also devoted to the Bostrichidae family. He is the co-author of a number of descriptions of species of this family, including fossil species. He currently works as a scientific worker-entomologist at the Forestry and Game Management Research Institute, Jíloviště, near Prague. Jiří Háva, specialist in the taxonomy of the family Dermestidae (main focus) and other families (author of approximatly 800 taxonomic publications with descriptions of almost 950 species), but he is also devoted to the family Bostrichidae. He is the co-author of a number of descriptions of species of this family, including fossil species. He currently works as an entomologist at Private Entomological Laboratory & Collection, Únětice, near Prague.
