This text offers a comprehensive collection of physical principles and mathematical techniques. It provides a balanced coverage of thermodynamics, kinetics, quantum mechanics and statistical mechanics.
Physical Chemistry offers a comprehensive collection of physical principles and mathematical techniques for majors, non-majors, and chemical engineers. Lucidly written, logically organized, and widely used, it offers thorough, balanced coverage of thermodynamics, kinetics, quantum mechanics, and statistical mechanics. Recognizing the benefits of computer algebra software programs, the author has shifted his emphasis from formula derivation to numerical examples. Five appendices review the mathematics used in problem solving. Throughout the text students will find a greater number of real-world examples and problems than ever before.

Joseph Noggle received his B.S. in Chemistry from Juniata College, and his M.S. in Chemistry and Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from Harvard University, where he was also a Postdoctoral Fellow. Noggle served as Assistant Professor of Chemistry at University of Wisconsin (Madison), from 1965-71. He is currently Professor of Chemistry at University of Delaware. He also has worked for The Dupont Company, Textile Fiber Department in Wilmington DE, as a Visiting Scientist Noggle is the author of nine books, the most recent being PhysicalChemistry, Third Edition, Physical Chemistry Using Mathematica, and Physical Chemistry using Mathcad. His research specialty is nuclear magnetic resonance, for which he wrote the classic monograph The Nuclear Overhauser Effect: Chemical Applications.
