Europe is facing the biggest transformation since the beginning of the industrial revolution. The goal is to achieve climate neutrality of the economy in about two decades. Europe's progressive forces must define and shape this transformation. The war in Ukraine has abruptly changed the path of transformation, even if the basic roadmap remains the same. The texts published in this book are part of the debate that progressive social and political forces in Germany are currently conducting on this historic challenge.
Matthias Machnig, geb. 1960, Wirtschaftsstaatssekretär a.D. und Minister a.D. sowie Vize-Präsident des Wirtschaftsforums der SPD e.V.
Nils Heisterhagen, geb. 1988, Dr. phil., ist Publizist und Autor. Er war Grundsatzreferent der SPD-Landtagsfraktion in Rheinland-Pfalz sowie Redenschreiber und Grundsatzreferent der letzten beiden IG-Metall-Vorsitzenden. Er lebt in Mainz.
Ernst Hillebrand, geb. 1959, Dr. phil., Studium der Politikwissenschaften, seit 1990 in verschiedenen Funktionen für die Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung tätig, u. a. als Referatsleiter der Internationalen Politikanalyse, des Referats für Mittel- und Osteuropa sowie als Leiter verschiedener FES-Auslandsbüros, u. a. in Paris und London.
