Saccharomyces cerevisiae is used as adsorbent material due to the chemical structure of the cell wall, site of prevalence of free amine groups. In this study, functional groups were included in the polymer-cell complex system to increase the availability of anion-ionic interaction sites and confer to the adsorbent material special properties for use in textile industry treatments.
