There are some books that describe high pressure technologies and research in the area of sub- and supercritical fluids, but this book presents fundamental data on thermodynamics and mass transfer, topics that are absolutely essential for the design of industrial plants.
Prof Knez established the high-pressure laboratory (completely new discipline in Maribor) in year 1985 and today there are 25 reaserchers working on separation processes and product design. He has issued two patents on his name and a pilot plant was built in Technology park in year 1999 based on this patents. He is also the director of a company ("green field" investment) with 50 employees and produces cca. 300 t per year of concentrated nature antioxidative substances (export 99.99 %). He acts as a consultant of many industrial projects on high pressure plants. Prof Knez has published 235 scientific articles and review articles, 25 chapters in books and 20 patents.
