This book develops an original theory of the search for space objects, on which only crude orbital information is known. It uses a special principle to construct a plan for searching for such objects through optical or radar sensors. This principle maximally eliminates the loss of the sought-for object and provides an economical use of the resources used in the search. This book will be of great interest for astronomers-observers, space control services, space researchers, and students at technical universities.

Stanislav S. Veniaminov is a Professor and Full Doctor of Sciences. He is the co-chairman of the US-Russian Scientific Space Surveillance Workshop. His current research interests are search theory, operations research, multivariate discrete optimization programs, and revealing latent structural patterns in processes. He is the author of more than 500 scientific articles including 18 monographs. His publications include Orbital Debris: A Technical Assessment (1995); Revealing Latent Structural Patterns in Processes and Signals: From Space Research up to Analysis of Market Trends (2015); and Special English-Russian and Russian-English Dictionary on Space Surveillance and Orbital Debris (2018).
