Durmus Kaya graduated as a Mechanical Engineer from Yildiz University. He received his M.S. at Kocaeli University and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Sakarya University. His research areas are energy technologies, energy efficiency, renewable energies, biogas, and new and clean energy technologies. He has contributed to numerous national and international projects as a project manager and a researcher. He has published more than 70 academic papers in various respected journals. He is also the author of eleven books. Currently, he is a Professor at Kocaeli University Department of Energy Systems Engineering, and is managing two national biogas and energy efficiency projects. Fatma Çanka Kiliç is a Professor Dr. at Kocaeli University, Technology Faculty, Department of Energy Systems Engineering, she is a Chairman of Renewable Energy Department, and also, she is an International Student Coordinator of Kocaeli University in Turkey. She graduated from Yildiz University, Department of Mechanical Engineering in 1991, and worked as a mechanical engineer in industry from 1991 to 1993. She received her master's degree from Kocaeli University, Institute of Science and Technology, in 1996. The same year she started her Ph.D. education at Sakarya University, Institute of Science and Technology. After completing her coursework, she went to the United States to prepare her Ph.D. thesis at Clemson University, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Graduate School of Applied Sciences, in Energy Sciences. She completed her Ph.D. thesis in August 2000 and received her certificate. Her research areas are energy, renewable energies and their technologies, HVAC systems, energy management, energy efficiency, energy recovery from waste, energy and environment. She has published more than 70 academic papers in various prestigious journals and conference proceedings. Hasan Hüseyin Öztürk received his M.S. and Ph.D. in Agricultural Engineering from Cukurova University. His work focuses on energy use and energy efficiency in agriculture, greenhouse climatization, renewable energies and solar heat storage. He has contributed to numerous national and international projects as a researcher and has published several scientific papers in various international journals.
