The importance of phospholipids in biological sytems has become increasingly recognized and appreciated in recent years. These two volumes are intended to give a comprehensive and critical coverage of the progress made in certain major areas of research directly or indirectly related to phospholipids. Volume II covers two biologically important phospholipids (i.e., platelet activating factor and antitumor agent alkyllysophospholipid), some major aspects of the newly discovered phospholipid/Ca2+ dependent protein kinase (protein kinase C) system, including its role in transduction of membrane signals , and finally, regulation of oxidative enymes by phospholipids and membrane.
