Advances in Entomopathogenic Nematode Taxonomy and Phylogeny provides an account of the valid Steinernema and Heterorhabditis species proposed since 2007. A taxonomic overview, tabular key to species, and their phylogeny and phylogeography are provided.
In Advances in Entomopathogenic Nematode Taxonomy and Phylogeny the numerous species of Steinernema and Heterorhabditis described since the previous volume, published in 2007, are evaluated and discussed. Valid species proposed from 2007-2015 are covered in detail, each taxon having an illustrated diagnostic description and additional data on molecular characterisation, distribution and biology, etc. An addendum gives brief details of species proposed during 2016. An overview of the taxonomy of the two families provides an up-to-date list of species for both genera, including new synonyms and detailed commentary on specific status where appropriate. Tabular keys to all valid species of Steinernema and Heterorhabditis assist in diagnostics. A chapter on phylogeny and phylogeography completes the book.

David J. Hunt, Ph.D. (1974), University of Reading, is an Emeritus Fellow at CABI Europe-UK. He has authored a book and numerous papers on nematode taxonomy and is currently Editor-in-Chief of Nematology and Series Editor for Nematology Monographs and Perspectives. Khuong B. Nguyen, Ph.D. (1988), University of Florida, retired. He has co-edited the volume Entomopathogenic Nematodes: Systematics, Phylogeny and Bacterial Symbiontsa (Brill, 2007), has authored 8 book chapters and about 90 papers in Nematology, especially on taxonomy of entomopathogenic nematodes. Sergei E. Spiridonov, Ph.D. (1986), Moscow State University, is leading researcher in Severtsov’s Institute of Ecology and Evolution, Russia Academy of Sciences, Moscow. Main scientific interests are in taxonomy of parasitic nematodes. Chief Editor of the Russian Journal of Nematology. Sergei A. Subbotin, Ph.D. (1987), Institute of Helminthology, Moscow, Russia, presently at the California Department of Food and Agriculture, USA, with associate positions at Ghent University, Belgium, and the Center of Parasitology, Russia. Publications include 150 articles, and two books.
