Auf dieser CD-ROM befinden sich ready-to-run TEX-Versionen für die meisten Unix-Systeme, Mac OS X und Windows, sowie eine nahezu vollständige Sammlung von Schriften und Makros, die nach dem TEX-Directory-Structure-Standard zusammengestellt sind.

TeX Live 7 basiert auf Web2c 7.3.7 und teTEX, deren Umfang ergänzt und erweitert wurde. Man kann ein TeX-System entweder direkt von CD-ROM starten oder mit Hilfe eines einfachen Programmes auf Festplatte installieren (Windows: \bin\win32\TeXLive.exe,
Unix: install-cd.sh).
TEX Live 7 enthält LATEX vom Juni 2001, alle Pakete in tools und die meisten der LATEX-Pakete von CTAN, verschiedene TEX-Formate (u. a. e-
TEX und pdfTEX), sowie diverse Schriftfamilien, beispielsweise CM (mit den Type-1-Versionen von Blue Sky/Y&Y) und CM-Super, EC, TC, AMS, Euler, Concrete und den kompletten Satz der Post-Script-Schriftmetriken von CTAN.
Dokumentationen sind immer wenigstens
in einem der Formate DVI, PDF oder HTML dabei.
This CD-ROM contains ready-to-run TEX systems for most types of Unix and Windows,
and a very complete tree of fonts and macros arranged according to the standard TEX directory structure.
It is based on Web2c 7.3.7 and teTEX,
but contains additions and extensions
to both of these systems. You can either
run it directly o. the CD-ROM, or
install programs to your hard disk, using
a simple install program (Windows:
\bin\win32\TeXLive.exe, Unix: installcd.
sh).
TEX Live 7 includes the complete LATEX from June 2001, all tools, and most of the contributed packages on CTAN. Many format .les are provided,
including variants for e-TEX and pdf
TEX. Font families include CM (with
the Blue Sky/Y&Y Type 1 versions) and CM-Super
EC, TC, AMS, Euler, Concrete, and
the complete set of PostScript font
metrics from CTAN.
Documentation is available in at least one of formats DVI, PDF or HTML.
