Containing extracts from Dawkins' book "River Out of Eden", this cassette presents a lucid account of evolution as a flowing river of DNA information, demonstrating how genes meet, compete, unite and somtimes separate to form new species.
In this audio book based on his number one bestselling book, Dawkins presents a closely argued and intellectually exhilarating case for his radical Darwinian view of life on Earth and the place of human beings on it. Those who know his earlier works will find much additional material to savour here; those who have not yet discovered Dawkins' passion for science will find this an ideal introduction to his work. 'Darwinism has too often been portrayed as a grim and pessimistic creed ...[but] Dawkins has lodged Darwinism on the high ground of imagination, from where we can truly wonder at life' New Scientist
